Well here we go! Officially hit 3 weeks on the gymshark66 challenge. That brings my total to day 29 on my fit for 30 and day 21 on gymshark66. Today was a little mix on the multigym followed by the most abs work I've ever done in one session! 4 sets of 10 on about 4 variations on abs! Trying to get this core stronger. Doing walking lunges with weight on just 1 side will challenge you to engage your core and strengthen it. Swipe right for more of what I did today. 1 dumbbell walking lunges (10 reps on each leg, 4x using 45lbs dumbell) Dumbbell Rdl (10 reps, 5x) Kneeling dumbbell wood chopper (10 reps, 3x) Glute bridge (legs elevated, 10 for each variation, 3x) Try this on your next session or tag and friend to try it with you. I ended my workout with a wonderful mobility and stretch session. How is everyone's Monday so far? Mine has been good so far, very full but good.

I loooove cereal. I always make it fit my macros it’s part of my 20%. I know some people might think you shouldn’t eat sugary cereals or sugary foods in general when you’re trying to lose weight but moderation is the key. If you have a serving or two servings of cereal and it still allows you to be in a deficit then you will still lose weight. Now if you’re not tracking and you just decide to have a huge bowl of cereal then that could cause you to go over your calories which would make it harder to lose weight. Remember moderation is the key and it’s okay to have the foods you love in moderation. 80% nutritious food and 20% whatever you want.

✳️Friendly reminder, body composition is more important than your weight on the scale.✳️ . ✴️On the left, I probably weighed less and could wear a smaller size in jeans, but I had a higher percentage of body fat and less muscle. . ✳️On the right is where I'm at now. I weigh more but have a lower body fat percentage and more muscle. My body composition has completely changed. . So I pose the question, why are you so obsessed with weight? I was too at one point, but have mostly learned to let go. . Most fad diets only make you lose water weight, NOT fat, so you did not do anything productive. If you take the time to make changes little by little you will see results. You will get where you want to be, and it will be easier to maintain. . I have degenerative disc disease in my T4,T5, T6,T7. This can create some pretty bad pain. I am way to active to let this get me. So I do what I can to help myself. Drop the ego. It's a term I see written on IG every now and then, in relation to lifting, and it resonates. I have struggled to deadlift without getting a twinge in my back. I'm not going to grimmace my way through pain just so I can claim a pb. If lifts don't feel right, I need to investigate, find out what the issue is and adapt what I'm doing. I'm not comparing myself to others or training for competitions, it's just me wanting to get stronger and me wanting to improve my physique. Deadlifts are a personal example of dropping the ego. I recently started them from scratch again. I've switched to sumo (as I mentioned previously), a variation that seems to suit my back better. I started back at 40kg (as in pic) and am now at 60kg. Lifts are feeling comfortable for the very first time. That's a breakthrough, a personal milestone on a technique level.  #getthebasicsrightfirst ?? For sure!

The first picture is a throwback to much warmer weather lifting. The second picture was of my squat today in the frigid shed. Outside was about 20F and I don’t think the inside was too much warmer even with all of our space heaters going. I think the cold definitely sapped a bunch of my energy because there were no PRs to be had today. I did work on form for both squats and overhead press. My form , like most people I am sure, suffers when I get to the higher numbers in my range. Now —> before. 12 llb difference. Leaned out, and loving life. Besides my hamstrings being more defined now, you can see my waist went down 2 inches as well 😱 . . . I did not bulk to cleanest to get to where I was, but I trained hard, ate my carbs and protein, did my cardio, and challenged my body like crazy every day. . . . I’m happy to be leaner, healthier, quicker, and faster with almost the same strength ✍🏽

Killed some shoulders and added in some cardio on  #fst7. Week 2 challenge is how do you deal with fatigue? I personally make sure I'm drinking enough, and try and make sure I'm sleeping enough. A good coach isn’t one that just calls out orders and tells you how easy it is to make changes and lose weight. A good coach doesn’t just write your programs and send you on your way without offer extra support and guidance if needed. A good coach doesn’t yell at you if you aren’t following the plan 100%. . A good coach doesn’t make it sound like it should be so simple for you to just eat right and exercise every day. . A good coach knows when to encourage you, but also when to give you space and be understanding. . A good coach knows cookie cutter plans don’t work and customization is key for long-term success. . A good coach will help you overcome expected plateaus and know how to pivot. . A good coach will support you 100% of the way and go out of their way to help you. . A good coach will set realistic expectations for you. . Coaching is a skill and it takes lots of practice. I’m not perfect, but I am always working on becoming a better version of myself. I can always grow more and learn how to COACH better. Work with a coach that is passionate and committed, not a coach that’s doing it as a hobby.

I've had to stop Muay Thai (for now) due to injury. However, I have found some joy in lifting weights, which doesn't damage my knee any further. In fact, it seems to be helping it. I go at lunch time every work day. Slowly, more and more women have asked to come along with me. So I've started an initiative at work and have sent out an open invitation to join me at the gym. The gym can be an intimidating place if you feel like you don't know what you're doing or you're new. So, I'm encouraging people to support each other in achieving your goals. Work on yourself, treat yourself with kindness, break through barriers, focus on your physical and mental well-being, and support each other in doing so. You'd be surprised how much going to the gym and lifting weights or hitting the bag can improve your mental state. Continue to lift each other up and love yourself before anyone else. You hold the key to changing your life. There's no big secret. Back home after a good leg day! It started of pretty bad because I forgot to bring my water bottle.. and I felt a little tired from all the renovating.. BUT.. I got my ass off the couch and did it anyway! Which makes me pretty happy at the moment. 😂 Never forget that the only workout that doesn't count is the one you didn't do. ___________ Even managed to get back on my squat PR of 50kg when I finally got in the flow! It's still not feeling deep enough in my opinion, but it's getting there. Wish I could get over this plateau already! Maybe I should push myself a little more next time.👍🏻 It's good to push your limits from time to time, if you're doing what you love it should come naturally. ___________ Last week in this gym! Mixed feelings about leaving.. Let's make the most of it while we still can!
