Getting back into my routine post holidays ✔ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀ I have been home for already one week and I haven't felt that "disciplined" with my "plan" for a long time, the reason why? Instead of setting unrealistic "goals", I have made sure they are sustainable and achieavable ✔ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀ 🍷 Reduce alcohol : none so far ✔ 🍵 Drink green tea everyday : I usually start my day with a coffee at home and mid morning once caffeine cravings kick in, I had a tea instead ✔ 🍪 Snack less : on the road I didn't have access to a kitchen and inevitably relied a lot more on snacks. While being convenient, they don't keep me full. I didn't buy any when I went grocery shopping and I focused instead on eating larger meals ✔ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀ 🏃🏼‍♀️ Walk at least 30 minutes per day : I did that every night after dinner ✔ 🏋🏼‍♀️ Follow my weight training program : I wrote myself a 6 week "Coming back from holidays" program 👊 Consisting of 2 lower and 2 upper body strength & hypertrophy workouts focusing on progressive overload. Great to keep me accountable ✔ 🧘🏼‍♀️ Listen to my body : I aim to train 5 times a week and purposely didn't include my 5th session in my program to give me the flexibility to train in a way that feels good for me on that day. I was quite sore Sunday so I just went for a longer walk ✔ Small changes compound over time. Instead of trying to make drastic or huge changes at the same time, start by setting smaller goals 🙏🏼 ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀  #campinglife  #campingtrip  #campingadventures  #outdoorfitness  #fitfrenchies #pt  #newyearnewme  #wanderlust  #explore  #welivetoexplore  #adventure  #travel  #landscape  #photography  #holidays  #travelphotography  #instatravel  #outdoors  #traveltheworld  #beautifuldestinations  #endlesssummer  #islandlife  #queensland  #visitqueensland  #magneticisland  #roadtrip  #postholidayblues  #goals  #eatsmart  #trainsmart

Time flys eh. It feels like yesterday that I was 22 and now I'm a veteran with a tiny daughter!😂 I ran the first stage of the  #letsgetrunning  #10kduel yesterday- officially clocking 32.36, finishing 1st Vet and 2nd overral. I now have to run another before Feb 11th and see if I can clock a strong % improvement. We're hoping the challenge helps us (and others) keep pushing through the cold winter months. Have a listen to our most recent  #podcast on the link in bio and get involved if you like. I thought I might retire following the last Marathon, but I would love Greta to grow up around  #running. What other endeavour teaches the importance dedication and determination so succinctly? You get out what you put in  #runningismyreligion

The inchworm slider plank. This is an exercise that I played around with while working with the sliders one day. If anyone knows the exact exercise name - please let me know! . . 🐛 - This particular movement uses the sliders on the forearms during a front plank position. Start with the sliders on the forearms with the hands in a pronated (palms down) position. . . Next - find your neutral front plank position. Try to tuck pelvis at the top by contracting your core and glutes. Also - think of protracting (rounding your shoulder blades) your shoulders by pushing your forearms straight down into the sliders. Your upper arm will be perpindicular to the floor at the beginning/start position. While holding this full front plank position - slowly move the arms/sliders out in front. Only reach out hands as far as you are able to while holding this neutral flat back position. Then - you will “inch” your feet up to the point where you are back in the start position. Repeat for desired reps or for time. . . 🐥 - As said in previous posts - the sliders are an extremely versatile piece of equipment that can easily supplement your foundational workout routine. Give this exercise a try if you’d like to spice up your core training! Share with someone you’d like to try this with! . .

Let's talk SHOULDERS💪🏽vid is sped up Most women want an "X" shaped physique. Which starts with shapely, round shoulders, making your waist appear smaller and your hips and lower body appear wider. That being said, there are different parts of the shoulders to be trained. The anterior, lateral and posterior deltoids as well as the 4 rotator cuff muscles. You have to train all of these muscles to create the nice cuff that most strive for (at least I do🙋🏼) This sequence of exercises hits all of those muscles and over time, will build sexy shoulders💪🏽 try 12-15 reps of each, 4x with minimal rest. Now for the workout!! These are the exercises I did --- WARMUP: make sure you stretch and warmup your shoulders very thoroughly. Then do... ✖️30 Ball Throws x2 --- EXERCISE SEQUENCE💦 ❌SHOULDER PRESS (works all 3 deltoids) ❌LATERAL RAISE (works lateral deltoid) ❌SHOULDER ROTATION (works rotator cuff) ❌DB FRONT RAISE HOLD (30 seconds) (works anterior deltoid) ❌FRONT RAISE HOLD + DB STEERING (works anterior deltoid + rotator cuff) ❌FRONT RAISES (works anterior deltoid) ❌REAR DELTOID FLY (works posterior deltoid) 🔥BURNOUT🔥 Ball throws to failure  #shoulders  #shoulderworkout  #sexyshoulders  #lifting  #trainhard  #trainsmart  #deltoids  #reardelts  #delts  #gymvideo

Fun fact: Did you know that your glutes are a part of your core? Having strong glutes can help stabilize your hips, knees and back. Having weak glutes can cause injuries in those areas, with that said don’t skip booty day! I never let my clients start their workouts without activating their glutes and rest of their core. Here is some Monday motivation for the members  @anytimefitnessdroitwichspa please read below⤵️ _ If you want to get the most out of the gym you need to try and set yourself goals following the SMART principle. _ Specific - decide what you want to achieve. If you want to lose weight, decide how much, just to lose weight is too open ended. _ Measurable - Have a way of seeing if you are getting towards your goals. Use numbers e.g weight on the scales or weight on a bar. _ Attainable - Is the goal achievable? If you want to lose weight will you do that by eating cake? _ Realistic - You know yourself and how you currently train. If you want to deadlift 200kgs will you do that by just doing cardio? _ Time - Set yourself a time frame and be realistic about it. Keep a training planner so you can keep on top of your goals. _ _ Any members  @anytimefitnessdroitwichspa needing assistance setting or achieving their goals drop me a message and see if I can help. _ _ _  #mondaymotivation  #mondayworkout  #goals  #goalsetting  #gymgoals  #lifegoals  #smartgoals  #traininggoals  #weightloss  #weightlossjourney  #fitnessjourney  #transformation  #progress  #trainsmart #gym  #gymmotivation  #gymfamily  #deadlift  #pushpulllegs  #bodytransformation  #trainhard  #fitlife  #healthylifestyle  #fitnessmotivation  #fitness  #cardio  #workoutmotivation  #exercisemotivation  #instathought  #motivation

This simple change could be the difference in losing weight or not. - Normal Mayo per serving = 102kcal x 3 times a day over the week = 2142 kcal . - Lighter than light mayo per serving = 11kcal x 3 times a day over the week = 231 kcal . - That’s a big 1911 kcal difference and that could have stopped you being in a calorie deficit 👍. 1 This is just one example, - Not everyone will have mayo 3 times a day 7 days a week. -  #coachgary

Lwer Body Dominant Workout Training avec  @sacha Part II (Assistance Work) 4 Sets (60-90sec rest) 8-10reps Landmine Deficit Reverse Lunges  @20kg .................................................................................. Pourquoi???

•  #theronintactical  #hareketetmedenöncedüşün  #thinkbeforeyoumove  #honor  #loyalty  #justice  #respect  #gunsofinstagram  #photo  #photography  #photos  #tactical  #training  #combat  #life#gun  #guns  #trainhard  #trainsmart  #warrior  #fighter  #tacticalathlte  #molonlabe  #gunfighter #edc  #tactical  #pewpew  #dirtydeeds  #forthebrave  #gunsdaily  #everydaycarry

Credit: @dr.caleb.burgess ・・・ 💥Shoulder Mobility💥 - 💥 Hand behind back mobility of the shoulder is important for a few reasons. These include: - 🔹It assesses the COMBINED motion of 3 different motions of the shoulder (glenohumeral) joint: Internal Rotation (primarily), Extension, and Adduction 🔹It is used functionally for getting dressed and bathing 🔹It can be used to assess the STRENGTH of the ROTATOR CUFF (subscapularis) when the hand is actively lifted off of the back - 💥 Improving the passive and active mobility of this movement can often improve OVERHEAD MOBILITY as well - 📹 As you can see in the video, it's very easy to perform the stretch incorrectly, where the thoracic spine and shoulder blade (scapula) are ROUNDED FORWARD to compensate for lack of mobility at the shoulder joint itself - 📌 To combat this, as with any "stretch", it's important to contract the OPPOSING muscles. In this case, the upper back muscles (middle and lower trapezius) work to STABILIZE the scapula so that an ISOLATED stretch/movement can occur at the shoulder joint - 📌 To further limit EXTENSION at the shoulder joint in place of more INTERNAL ROTATION (which is often the targeted motion with this exercise), you can block the elbow on a doorframe and PERFORM in the same way - 📌 And lastly, to "lock in" the new motion achieved, it's important to perform active ISOMETRIC contractions at the end of range in order to improve the muscles' and nervous system's ability to "remember" how to keep this new range of motion - 🚨 If you can't lift your hand off of your back, bring your hand down lower until you can! Again, blocking the elbow on a doorframe can help to isolate active INTERNAL ROTATION during the exercise - ❤️ TAG a friend who needs better shoulder mobility!

Turn up the 🔉🔉🔉on today’s post about strong and resilient shoulders. Being a physical therapist we don’t often have time to train strength as much as we do fix the problems people come in with to see us. However, the longer I have been a therapist, the more I realize that good  #strengthtraining is corrective in itself. A great example is helping people press smarter and better so that they are not only stronger but don’t hurt their body like their shoulders! When people hurt their shoulders it usually isn’t because of the exercise, but the way the exercise is performed. ______________ 💪🏻 That is why I wanted to break down some common errors in pressing overhead. So many times I even hear fitness professionals saying they hurt their shoulders pressing. There are some easy technique and concept ideas you can use to help prevent these issues. Today’s video is about simple techniques that will instantly make you stronger and better! Why this Ultimate  #Sandbag press? Because of the position of the hands and shoulders it is a better way to get people pressing and gives incredible feedback if you think of how we move, not just how we lift!

There are two camps in the fitness industry that are just throwing balls to each other: 1.) blaming the “diet culture” and accept your body as it is. Generally advocating that being overweight is sexy and healthy. It might be sexy and good for you if you love your body for it, but certainly not healthy. 2.)fad diets (weight watchers, boo teas, skinny teas, slimming shakes, meal replacements, tummy wraps) that only focus on the quick fixes. But please don’t mistake the fad diet culture with professional help to change your body with right techniques. With real and good guidance! With real help to teach you about nutrition, exercising and help you with body confidence! I used to blame the diet culture UNTIL I learned that you CAN change and also love your body too. Accept your body. I have lots of scars, Had many surgeries , few of them were actually life saving. I have cellulite. But I still managed to lose weight. Change my body shape and ALSO Love my body, these two things don’t have to go without each other. They can go hand in hand. Do you need to do home work for it? Yes you do! It is a life long journey. And every step of it is exciting and new and more and more you learn about yourself. So STOP blaming dieting and accept that you can change your body and also love it! . . . Strong glute training should be the part of any good fitness program. In order to understand how to get great results we have to understand some concepts that explain how our  #glutes actually work in the real world and how they are designed for movement. ______________ 💪🏻 One of the first thing to understand about the glutes is that they are largely controlled by the feet. Your glutes work as your feet hit the ground in life and sport. When we train standing and in unstable environments like various single leg based movements, we can actually build stronger glutes than if we try to live on the ground! _____________ 💪🏻 Second important point of proper glutes is that they work with the  #core and lats. You notice when we walk and run we swing our arms, that’s because they help create stability in our spine when we do every day actions like walking and running. That means a good glute exercise will make sure to involve our core and lats as we show with these Ultimate  #Sandbag drills as we create tension in the handles being pulled apart and pulling apart the weight in the crooks of our arms. This connects these chains without having to over think it! ____________ 💪🏻 The concept that people really don’t realize for the glutes is that they are designed to move and resist force at the same time. Again, why people in standing and different stances like these awesome female coaches demonstrate. Moving with fluidity, stability, mobility, and strength is what  #funcitonalfitness is all about and proud of these strong women that demonstrate with such precision they make tough exercises look easy! Gastro-Soleus Foam Roller • Self myofascial release is a great tool to loosen up tight tissues, restore tissue glide, and relieve pain. By doing this, it can give us a window into greater mobility • Greater mobility is not always a good thing if you cannot control that increased range of motion! • Here I am using the  @rollgahealth foam roller to loosen up some tight calves from running • Pounding the pavement for 20 miles/week can lead to some musculoskeletal issues if you aren’t careful. I find that when I foam roll my recovery is better too • When I am foam rolling here, I am targeting trigger points in the gastrocnemius and soleus • Deep to these muscles are the flexor digitorum longus, flexor hallicus longus, and the tibialis posterior. Are we affecting these muscles when we foam roll? • Yes. Most likely we are affecting all the musculature in the calf, but the main place we’re going to find trigger points is in the superficial gastroc and soleus!

Serwus! Ważna jest higiena snu czyli brak niebieskiego światła przed zaśnięciem (telefon, komputer, tv), wyciszenie, medytacja i wygodny materac dostosowany do naszych potrzeb. ❄Ruch! Czyli same przyjemności. ❄ Jeżeli mimo dbania o siebie nadal czujemy się niezregenerowani i zestresowani, to warto zrobić sobie podstawowe badania krwii (+ poziom wit.D3) i skonsultować je z lekarzem. 🐒 Dobrego dnia wszystkim. 🙋🏻‍♀️  #kitogym  #kitopower  #regeneracja #sen  #odpoczynek  #monday  #mobility  #flexibility  #movement #gym  #fitness  #trainsmart  #trainsmartwithkito

Never have I ever experienced such a shoulder pump. I couldn't even lift my hands to tie my hair by the end of it. I kid you not 🤣 . . I was introduced to MTUT. ('Menace' time under tension) In MTuT you spend 10 seconds lifting the weight using a full range of motion, then coming back down as normal. Its like the opposite of a controlled eccentric. . . Started off with some pretty heavy sets of Mtut shoulder presses then we did a triset of lateral raises to front raises to rear (as seen in video and picture) then a killer dropset of lateral raises starting from 2.5kg dumbbells till 10kg and back down 😅 followed by some other movements. . . . . Learned a bunch of different training techniques today. It was an honor to get trained by  @bigdjames and the highlight was him shouting in between sets "big delts, you want em work for em" and the best one was "welcome to the ifbb pro league- push it" 🔥 . . Thank you  @rakeshudiyar for making this happen 😊🤗

At CMP one of the things we focus on is core control. This is a precursor to developing true core strength, and is easy to by pass, as the body can 'mimic' core strength by recruiting muscles whose functions overlap those of the core. For example: *Latissimus dorsi function overlaps oblique function. *Hip flexor function overlaps rectus abdominis function. *Lower back/gluteus maximus overlap erector spinae and multifidi function Basic spinal and thoracic control includes intervertebral control -- the ability to control the individual movement if the vertebra, rather than moving the entire spine as one unit. I use this exercise often when starting a program, as well as to develop spinal and pelvis control when the hip flexors become too strong, dominant, or misfire (fire out of efficient order). This is a beginning way to start developing thoracic intervertebral control. Here, Marilee is doing a negative sit up. She is working to 'roll' her spine down to the mat, one vertebrae at a time, using her transverse abdominis and rectus spinae (NOT HER HIP FLEXORS). She is using her hands to effectively lower the resistance, as her control and strength is not there yet. Give a try and post how you do!  #intelligentworkout  #personatrainer  #personaltraining  #fitspo  #trainsmart  #trainhard  #fitness  #fitfam  #instafit  #education  #core  #coreworkout  #motivation  #workout  #injuryprevention  #spine

Yup, another squat video This is the last squat session of this training cycle. 365x4 I'm extremely stoked for this one because exactly this day last year, I hurt my low back doing squats. It's been a blessing in disguise because it taught me to slow it down and really hone in my technique, mobility and stability. I took months off (which I shouldn't have done, it was an overreaction) only realizing that minor tweaks in form is what I needed to take away the pain! This was my max back then, took me a year to rep it out! I tried to take this vid on a GoPro and idk why it looks like it was filmed on a potato. @baguio.barbell 🎸 Thank God I'm not the one -  @theaftersofficial

The Dumbbell Romanian Deadlift (RDL) is my go-to exercice for full posterior chain development⛓ ⁣ 🔻⁣ Strengthening your glutes is crucial in any aspect of training as they are the largest and strongest muscle group in your body. ⁣ 🔻⁣ When it comes down to RDL’s, your chest must be up and shoulders retracted. Make sure to have a slight 15-20 degree knee flexion. Excessive flexion at the knee will cause you to not feel it in your hamstrings effectively. Most importantly, your spine (lower back) is in a neutral position. Give those a try for full body work💯⁣ Train heavy, train smart🧠 🔻⁣ ➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖⁣ ▪️Training & Programs Available▪️⁣ 🔺Book your consultation 🔺⁣ ➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖⁣ .⁣ .⁣ .⁣ .⁣ .⁣  #workouttips  #workoutvideo  #montrealfitness  #mtlfitness  #canadianbodybuilding  #musclecanada  #muscleinsidercanada  #hypertrophy  #canadianphysiquealliance  #deadlift  #arnoldsportsfestival  #rxmuscle  #oldschoolbodybuilding  #bodybuildingnation  #bodybuildingnation  #glutesfordays  #powerbuilding  #glutes  #animalpak  #universalnutrition  #trainsmart  #bodybuildingmotivation  #gluteworkout  #tnation  #trainhard  #westisland  #offseason  #arnoldclassic  #massmonster  #growseason

Using heavy weight when executing cable flys is not necessary. Instead, focus on keeping your shoulder blades retracted to avoid any internal rotation at the shoulder and hold the contracted position a second or two for 12-15 reps. This will solely give your chest uninterrupted time under tension and a huge pump 💪🏽💥⁣ ⁣ ➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖⁣ ▪️Training & Programs Available▪️⁣ 🔺Book your consultation 🔺⁣ ➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖⁣ .⁣ .⁣ .⁣ .⁣ .⁣  #workouttips  #workoutvideo  #montrealfitness  #mtlfitness  #canadianbodybuilding  #musclecanada  #muscleinsidercanada  #hypertrophy  #canadianphysiquealliance  #chestday  #arnoldsportsfestival  #rxmuscle  #oldschoolbodybuilding  #bodybuildingnation  #bodybuildingtraining  #montreality  #veinspoppin  #montreal  #animalpak  #universalnutrition  #trainsmart  #bodybuildingmotivation  #monstergym  #tnation  #trainhard  #westisland  #chestpump  #massmonster  #offseason  #growseason

Let’s talk supplements! 💊💊💊 ➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖ This post isn’t meant to bash other companies or people who don’t know better. This being said if you promote anything along the lines of a “magic product” 🔮, PLEASE don’t claim to be credible or taken seriously by the rest of the fitness industry (and honestly shame on you) Now as for clients of such companies: it’s not your fault per se, but DO YOUR RESEARCH! 🔬 Anything promoted as magic/miraculous or going to make you lose pounds of weight or gain crazy muscle is BULLSHIT! What gives results people? Hard work in the gym and even harder work on your diet; that’s it. 💪🏽🥦 Now are supplements helpful? Yes. Are all supplements helpful? No. The cheaper the brand, most likely the cheaper the ingredients they use. This being said, ATP Labs is a brand I’ve been using for almost 5 years now. Why? Because I know and trust the quality of their products. Do you know any other supplement company that threw out a batch of products worth tens of thousands of dollars because it wasn’t 100% perfect and didn’t want to give this to their clients even though they were throwing money out the door? No? Me neither. Point is. Supplements are just that. A SUPPLEMENT to all the hard work your doing. They aren’t magic pills that give you results. Get your facts straight! 🤓 ➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖ Comment below what your supplement/fitness pet peeves are👇🏼 —————————————————————  #fitnessindustry  #fitnesstruth  #atplabs  #supplementsthatwork  #supplements  #mtlgirl  #healthfacts  #fitfacts  #fitnessfacts  #supplementfitness  #supplementreview  #facts  #truth  #canadiangirls  #quebec  #montreal  #bodybuildingwomen  #bodybuildingmotivation  #bodybuildinggirl  #naturalsupplements  #healthylifestyle  #trainsmart  #healthblog  #fitnessblog  #fitgirls  #healthyme  #montrealwomen  #girlswhosquat  #qcfitness  #montrealfitness

Few clips from shoulder workout. The key to develop delts that have a round and full three-dimensional look is to proportionally work on all 3️⃣ heads. Most common thing I hear in the weight room is “my shoulder hurts😤” Shoulders provide support and are used in every lifting motions. Being under developed will lead to muscle imbalances and weaknesses, significant internal rotation and bad posture. For over 5 years now, I always focused on training shoulders isolated from other muscle groups.
