They depend way too much on motivation and not enough on self discipline and taking action! The secret is to treat your health and fitness not as a choice - but as your duty and obligation! You have to firmly decide that being sick, out of shape, overweight, and unhealthy is NON-NEGOTIABLE FOR YOU! 🙅🏻‍♂️🙅🏻‍♀️. Would you ever tell your boss, “Hey boss I’m sorry to tell you this, but I’m not feeling motivated to do the tasks you want me to do today at work.” The thought of telling them this wouldn’t even cross your mind!!! (Although you actually may feel like this lol). So the same way you carry your sorry ass to work is the same way you gotta carry your ass to the gym! I’M NOT PERFECT// . I mean. Obviously. 🙄 . But health-wise, I don’t excel at everything, every day. And neither do your favourite influencers I’M JUST SAYING... . Get this: the entire time I was on vacation, the first thing I did every morning was reach for my phone; cruise Insta; cruise Facebook; read articles... Brutal. Gross! . That shit stops MEOW. 😼 . My phone, effective immediately, doesn’t live in my bedroom anymore. . I will wake up via alarm clock. Before I even look at my phone, I’ll set my intentions for the day and do a few sun sals or go for a walk (weather dependent; I’m still working on my “walking every day” goal but unfortunately I still hate winter). . THEN get to work checking the social feeds and the email accounts. . (I know. I know. I could’ve dropped $200 on the Phillips Somneo with the sunset and sunrise illumination that mimics sunlight, but have you read the reviews on that thing? Not great. Besides which, I never really have to wake up that early. I just have to wake up. This $20 jobbie from Wal-Mart is fine.) . My screen time is a health behaviour I desperately need need need need NEED to change. Well this is a new one! I’ll be honest... I was a little nervous/intimidated to try this! I’m using shirataki noodles! For those who were like me and had never heard of them they are a noodle made out of tofu and guess what!? 0 calories!! I mean if I can get my pasta craving fulfilled and have it be 0 calories sign me up! But.... It was just ok! Honestly I would have liked it better with zoodles or spaghetti squash I’m not sure I’m sold on these noodles 😂 You win some you lose some! Good thing I can just switch in a different veggie noodle next time! Shrimp, Bacon, Fettuccine Alfredo 🍝🍤 2 servings: equal to 1 lean, 3 green, 1 3/4 condiment and 2 healthy fats Ingredients: 4oz Shirataki fettuccini noodles 1/2 cup cooked spinach 1/2 cup mushrooms chopped and cooked 6oz Shrimp deveined, tail off and cooked 1oz turkey bacon 1/4 cup Raos roasted garlic Alfredo 2tbsp reduced fat feta cheese 1/2 tbsp grated Parmesan 1/8 tsp Mrs. Dash onion and herb seasoning 1/8 tsp Mrs. Dash extra spicy seasoning Instructions: Boil a pot of water. Cook turkey bacon on a pan over medium-high heat until crispy remove and cut into small pieces. Cook shrimp in a pan and both Mrs. dash seasonings. Rinse shirataki noodles under cold water for 2-3 minutes, transfer noodles to boiling water and cook 2-3 minutes, transfer to a skillet and pan dry over medium heat stirring to dry out the noodles when at desired texture add Alfredo, cooked spinach, mushrooms, bacon, and shrimp, stir until heated through. Sprinkle cheese on top and serve! 🍝🍤🍽

Meal Motivation 🔹two meals me and the family have had recently. 1️⃣ A regular large cheese pizza from  @aldiusa , we added tomatoes, a ton of chicken, and some more cheese! Freaking delicious 🤤 2️⃣ A taco salad with seasoned chicken, organic black beans, corn, cherry tomatoes, and green bell peppers. 3️⃣ Spaghetti, the noodles are from the baked spaghetti squash! Ground turkey and organic marinara. One of my favorite meals now due to the ease of cooking. 🔹these are just a few of the options we do at the Mendres casa through out the week. Smoothies for brekkie 🥤🙋🏻‍♀️ To make it easy I just load up bags of fruit and spinach in the freezer and throw them in the blender in the morn with some form of liquid (coconut milk, almond milk, water, 100% orange or apple juice) plus some oats/LSA/nuts/seeds for fibre. Other great additions (but not all at once 😂): nut butters, avo, dates, lemon, turmeric, ginger, kale, yoghurt, cacao powder. To make it a bit more filling, make it a smoothie bowl by topping it with fresh fruit, granola, coconut, chia seeds. 🥬🍌🌰🥑🥭🥜🍊🥛🍓
