Just a lil reminder that your self worth isn’t the same as what you eat. Fad diets and diet culture are poisonous. And, sadly, normally primed against women. It’s a hard cycle to get out of (and it took me a loooong time to realise) but it’s wrong to feel like you should change your diet or go to the gym because someone else has told you to look a certain way. Eat in a way that makes you happy, move in a way that makes you happy ☺️

I wish I had a magical formula for you, that when you woke up in the morning, your body was everything you dreamed of...Believe me, I would have jumped on board with that when my baby was 6 weeks old and I weighed 196 lbs. Or 2 1/2 years later when I was still battling with my weight and weighed 170 lbs. The truth is, our bodies don’t work like that. There is no magical formula. In order for me to see the changes to my body I’m enjoying now, I started exercising 6 days a week and I started following a disciplined diet plan. I’ve stayed consistent with it for 6 months, 6 months of putting in the effort everyday. I wasn’t willing to put in the effort before, and then felt depressed I didn’t look good. 🤨 If you want your body to look different, you must do the work! Don’t give up after 1 or 2 weeks. Put in the consistent time and effort. 💪🏻 You will be so pleased with yourself! I know how hard it is! I’ve started and stopped more times than I can count. 😬 But it can be done! Emotional moment. I never ever in my dreams thought I could look like this!! Often looked at other fit girls at the gym. I could only #run for 30 seconds - 3 months ago. Yes. 30 secs!! I can now run for 8 to 10 min straight. I kept looking at the treadmill and I did not feel the need to stop to drink water. My breath was at its own pace.  #running Made a new goal today to run a 5K  #marathon in few months. For those who know me, I will make it happen. Thanks all for supporting. This dinner right here 😍🙌🏼 I honestly thought I’d be starving with protein fasting today but this dinner was so satisfying, delicious, and filling! I am a firm believer in healing the body through food, and incorporating as much fruits, veggies and plants into my diet is one of my main goals in my weightloss journey. It’s taking a lot of healing and he’s work but I am slowly transforming from a binge eater addicted to sugar, junk and fast food to someone who craves fruits, veggies and food that’s nourishing and truly satisfying, as opposed to just a momentary high followed by guilt, shame, anxiety and depression in an endless cycle. Yesterday I did something that I never thought I would do.. I tried  #daiya ‘s  #veganeggs for the first time! Since I havent had an actual eggs for 6 1/2 years, it actually tasted like eggs to me! Daiyas ‘eggs’ are made with a powder and mixed with water! The nutritional content is about 1/2 the kcal of a chicken egg and about 1/2 the protein content of an egg 🥚. • Whether I would have it again as ‘scrambled’ eggs is definitely debatable but I would love to try it as a French toast in the future and absolutely try it with baking! I’m on week two and already seeing amazing results! I’m getting stronger and faster! I can’t wait to share with you all my transformation from this program! 🤗 . Tighten core as well. *Lunge Raises-Don’t let your knee go past your toes when you are lunging. Hold for a moment when you bring leg up. Make sure to alternate sides. *Sumo Squats-Stance should be a bit wider than shoulders & place your feet at an angle. Add weight and hold in front of shoulders. Squat as low as you can, and squeeze your bum once you come up. ABSsssolutely you should do dynamic core work! Your core controls everything! From posture to balance to stability to power...you name it, don’t ignore training it all the way around 💞💫 The TRX straps is definitely my favorite toy in my gym 🙌🏼😍 These are just two exercises I love to add for core work: NOTE, I’m always adjusting my hands to find the optimal position for these moves to keep my shoulders directly over my hands- but y’all I got short legs!!! Keep trying, always improving 🤷🏻‍♀️

January 21st, 2019 💙🦈 ____________________________________________ Happy 3 weeks to everyone participating in  #gymshark66! Time is flying by and I can’t believe the first month of the year is almost over!!!! Today I had a short, but KILLER leg workout with my best friend  @ayoomayoo_ . Sometimes working out with a partner keeps you accountable and pushes you to do that extra set. May and I set goals for how many calories we wanted to burn during our workouts and pushed each other to go harder so that we could reach those goals. ____________________________________________ I was looking through my saved videos for a birthday post that I wanted to make for one of my friends today and found this gem (2nd pic). Today it clicked to me that my only competition is truly myself. This video is from May 2017. I started my fitness journey January 2017 so its crazy that after only 5 short months, I was able to achieve a body that I never thought I would see. This is what’s pushing me to keep working hard every single day. I killed my glutes and legs today...the gym was packed, as always I found the  #smithmachine and pushed the weight and reps. Sweat my bootie off...I am off today and for some crazy reason I thought the gym would be dead early...nope...it was crazy...haha... . . Saw Spiderman in the Spiderverse AGAIN!!! My son LOVES that movie...three times now and I will say it will he hard to watch another Spiderman movie b/c this by far is the best one...three times and just as good... . . I used to dance Ballet, I was en pointe and was obsessed...my dream of being a ballerina was crumbled when I kept getting taller...I am 5'10 ...too tall...but it's nice to get in some familiar movements when I can...on leg days I will always stretch like crazy...it helps and it feels so good... . . Excuses just don’t do it for me anymore. You either want it and work for it or you don’t It’s really that simple.
