*fake news I’m currently on a train feeling like absolute 💩 after a v long day at work . . So I haven’t been able to get to the gym or do any exercise for the last 3 days and I’ve caught myself feeling (wrongfully) guilty and almost disappointed in myself for it. Sometimes I feel like we can get so consumed by our individual social media ‘bubbles’ that it massively influences and distorts our perception of what is the ‘norm’. Since the majority of people I follow are fitness influencers and training enthusiasts- it gives me a false perception of what is ‘real’. In my eyes, everyone is fitting in their training / sticking to their diet 24/7 no excuses; with insane physiques year round, but in reality this is such a small minority of the population and is far from what is ‘normal’- plus many of these people work out and create fitness content as their job; which eliminates many other commitments that may get in the way... so it’s such a silly thing to ever feel inferior or ‘behind’. . . Most of us have other commitments and additional priorities and aspirations in our lives that get in the way and sometimes have to override our training/fitness/ diet goals and that’s ok!! One of my goals besides fitness is to work towards a successful career in business; and so the past 3 days my job has taken a forefront requiring me to work long days with travelling *plus I’ve had tonsillitis😩 so I really need to stop myself when I start to feel bad about not getting to the gym. At the end of the day this other commitment is just helping to fulfil another goal of mine🤷‍♀️ . . Think I just wanted to get across the point that it’s an amazing thing to have a number of goals in different areas of our life (whether that’s fitness, career, education, travel, family or whatever else!) so not being able to smash each goal 100% all the time isn’t a negative thing or a downfall- it just means you’re not putting all your eggs in 1 basket 💁🏼‍♀️ tr to not get too wrapped up in social media it’s always gonna portray the absolute best version of people - focus on you and remember your only competition is youuuu⭐️⭐️⭐️✌🏼

Casually flexing my ankle range of motion 😂🤷🏼‍♂️ . In all seriousness though, having a good range of motion (flexibility & mobility) within the joints can positively affect you performance during your workouts. Having superior mobility can reduce injury, increase movement efficiency and most importantly, improve your gains!! . This happens because of less stiffness arising in the joints allowing for smoother movements, this stops injuries from occurring during said movements!! . Booty progress! I am super happy with this because I didn't realise how much I had changed. The time between these pictures is just over a year. I've got to be honest I was hoping for more. Growing muscle takes time. You also need to fuel your body. It took me some time to figure this out. To build muscle you need to eat at least your recommended calorie intake. I’m hella proud 🥰 Ive taken a week off this week to get on top of my mental health and the one thing I’ve missed is the gym. Photo taken (19/01/19) after my pull day.
