I used to HATE my body. 😔 Be mad at it for not looking a certain way. Be frustrated with it for always fighting me. Be disappointed that I wasn’t born with better genetics. But then... I fell in love with it. 🙏🏼💕 Not because I was finally able to change it, but because I finally began to APPRECIATE it. Several years ago I decided to do my first bikini competition. With that I hired my first coach. He guided me through the process, showed me not to fear carbs/calories 😆 and helped me discover what my body COULD do. I realized my body was never “worse then everyone else’s.” ⠀ It wasn’t my “genetics that sucked.” It wasn’t my “willpower that sucked.” It wasn’t my “body that sucked.” ⠀ Over the years I have learned first hand the power of FOOD. I have taken my physique to levels I never imagine I could take it to. The body I now LOVE, is the exact same body I used to HATE. It wasn’t my genetics that changed. It was my ACTIONS. Through knowledge, proper nutrition, smart training and commitment, I discovered what my body was actually capable of all along. 💪🏼 ⠀ The body you may be hating now, is the same body that is capable of some pretty impressive sh*t. All it takes is new approach, taking ACTION, and giving yourself the opportunity to finally discover what YOUR body is truly capable of. ✨

Slowly but surely, progress WILL happen, and SEEING 👀 it will keep your MOMENTUM 🌊 going!! . . . Sometimes I think to myself “is this really working?” Or “is the effort I’m putting in equal to the results I’m getting out?” And sometimes the answer is no. Until I look at photos like this one. . . . I document my journey not just to share with and inspire ✨ others, but mostly for myself. I document it to see the changes in my body and overall happiness as time goes by. Sometimes it takes seeing that picture from last year vs this one to realize, holy 💩, what a difference! . . . So as vain as it seems sometimes, snap that selfie 🤳 after your workout, even if you don’t share it on social media, even if you’re feeling down about yourself. Keep it in a separate folder, and continue to go back to it. One day, whether it’s next month or next year, you’re gonna look back on the selfie you took TODAY and you’re gonna say “wow, yep. Fun fact: If you do not take steroids, it takes years to see significant progress in your physique. A natural lifter takes the really hard fuckin road, and if they’ve built more than 5kg of muscle in a year; they’ve had a great damn year. So yesterday I was leg pressing this. I had already done 5 x 12 at 200kg. Then I did a set of 12 at 220kg. It went well and I was quite chuffed. Today, however, feeling sorry for myself. Long story short, I've strained a muscle in my back ( not from the leg press press though) 🙁. You know when you start minding what you eat again it feels like everything tempts you to stray away from your goals. And seriously though, I'm careful to set realistic goals this time. Low carbs high protein, moderate fat. Stick to my macros. Don't be obsessive. Enjoy your food. It helps that I prepped my meals in advanced. 😁 I was heating up my food but I had a massive craving for palabok. This is too easy, I had a dozen shiratake noodles in the pantry, simmered a packet of palabok mix and voila 5 minutes meal right there😉

🍓🌸Staying on track while traveling for work is much easier when the hotel makes things so pretty and loads your soup full of extra veggies and chicken! I have such a sweet tooth tonight so i was relieved to see seasonal berries on the menu. Today marks a Day 1 of the #bbr challenge and unfortunately, I’ll be a day behind with the way things worked out with my work travel. Womp womp! That’s okay though. I had a blast flying into LA yesterday and going out with my cousins in  #westhollywood til the wee hours of the night and am pumped to get in a double workout tomorrow after my meetings in  #downtownla now that I have the hotel gym. What’s up, guys!? Happy Tuesday! It seems like a lot of you have tons of questions. One of the common questions I received was about rep ranges.⠀ ⠀ Here are some general guidelines that you can use to help you reach your goals when it comes to strength training.⠀ ⠀ Again, these are just guidelines and not hard and fast rules. They aren’t magic formulas, and they won’t work unless you do. Consistency and progressive overload will always be numero uno when it comes to making gains.⠀ ⠀ That being said, if your primary goal is muscle strength, your compound movements (squat, bench, deadlifts, etc) should be 3-5 sets in the 1-5 rep range with significant rest time between sets (3 to upwards of 5 minutes). If you can do more than 5 reps per set, you’re going too light, bump up the weight.⠀ ⠀ If your primary goal is muscle hypertrophy you want to hit 3-5 sets of 6-12 reps per set for both your compound and isolation lifts with a rest time of about 1-2 mins between sets. Again, if you can do more than 12 reps you want to bump up the weight.⠀ ⠀ Finally, if muscle endurance is the goal you want to select a weight you can do 12-20 reps for 2-3 sets at the very end of your workout. “ 🙋🏼‍♀️ WHO HAS BAD SLEEP, RUN DOWN, SICK OR STRESSED!? 😩 Everyone who knows me, knows I used to get run down/sick alllll the time, mostly with tonsillitis. Every time I got run down I would be stuck in bed for up to 2 weeks at a time... I would get sick at least ONCE A MONTH, if not every second month - if I was SUPER lucky! I felt like every time I was starting to make progress at the gym, I would have to take a rest. It was a really big set back for me mentally and psychically from achieving my goals and seeing results in my life. Craving pizza but don’t want all the calories? I made a healthy version of pizza to satisfy any pizza craving called Pizzadillas! I made three different kinds - grape tomato, green pepper and mozzarella, green pepper and mozzarella, plain extra mozzarella. Calorie count is super low! Even  @teamswoh approves of them all!! Here are the recipes for all three: Grape tomato, green pepper, mozzarella 1/4 cup tomato, quartered 1/8 cup peppers, diced 1/8 cup no salt added tomato sauce 1/4 cup reduced fat shredded mozz 1 wheat fajita wrap Place sauce on entire wrap. Put cheese, tomato and pepper on one half. Fold over. Cook in a pan sprayed with coconut oil spray for 2-3 minutes (each side) on medium to medium/high. Take off heat and cut into four pieces. Calorie count for this Pizzadilla is 274 (68 calories per serving) Plain extra mozzarella 1/8 cup no salt added tomato sauce 1/2 cup reduced fat shredded mozz 1 wheat fajita wrap Place sauce on entire wrap.
