Sculpt Your Shoulders by  @trainwithcarsen _ When it comes to sculpting your shoulders, 75% of your focus will be with the primary lifts: overhead press, push press, and dumbbell shoulder press. While the other 25% of your focus will be with accessory lifts, targeting the individual heads of the deltoid (shoulder muscle). These include: face pulls, front raises, lateral raises, reverse flys. _ When it comes to your primary lifts, you need to focus on getting stronger. This means you must be progressing weekly, whether that be increasing weight, adding another set, or adding a few more reps. I recommend mainly sticking to a lower rep range here, focusing on building strength. _ In regards to your accessory lifts, I recommend working up to higher rep ranges (15+), really dialing in your form. The purpose of these accessory lifts is to target a specific muscle head. For instance, with lateral raises, the goal is to target the lateral deltoid head. There are three deltoid heads: front, lateral, and rear. Today is exactly two years since I started my preop diet for surgery, so I thought it was a good time to post. I was on Optifast for 4 months and 1 week. I haven’t seen a lot of change in the last year physically. But I HAVE gone through a lot of change. I have separated from my husband, I have changed the job I was doing for nine years, I moved from the town I called home for nine years, moved from a house to an apartment and a new city on my own. And through that all, I haven’t fluctuated more than the +\- 5 lbs. so I am going to try and choose to focus on that as my victory. Yes, I still have weight I’d like to lose. But sometimes life happens and it’s ok to maintain for a while. I have lost 152.3lbs since the before pic, 170.2lbs from my highest weight. 2019 for me is the year big changes are going to take place 🤞 . . . I want start being more healthy by - losing some weight - eating more healthy and exercise more. . . . So far this year I have been good. I joined Slimming World at the beginning of January. I have been out walking loads. Eating more healthy and even exercising at home. . . . Day 17 I was being awarded my half stone award at Slimming World. A few years back I managed to lose just over 3 stone but sadly didn't keep it off as old habits started again. This time round I am fully aware that it has to be a lifestyle change and I am ready to give 100%. . . . We are now on day 24 and I am really enjoying the new meals we are having, the exercises I have been doing are actually rather fun. We are all challenging eachother to different exercises and it has now become a family fun activity we are all enjoying. 😁 . . . How has your month been so far?

I like this progression of what the therapeutic order should look like 🤓 . . I think since doctors now have less and less time with their patients (failure of the system not the practitioners) that they are often jumping to step 6 when in fact many conditions can be addressed with steps 1-5 🙌🏽 Then if needed, use the meds. . . Before surgery - couldn’t walk more than five minutes without excruciating pain and I was in tears. Post surgery - I am five weeks into a C25K app I had on my phone forever. I continuously jogged for a 20 minute interval, 30 minutes with warm up and cool down. The most I’ve ever done was 8 minutes up to this point. I did it and wasn’t even tired! So I came home, made supper, did dishes and went back out for another jog. I jogged continuously for 25 minutes this time! I am so motivated right now!!!  #REDJanuary : Progress Update - 24/01/19 ♥️👟 ... 23 days completed and feeling so good! After a difficult Christmas & New Year, I am feeling refreshed, revitalised and ready for some new challenges. My primary focus is on my own health and being the best father I can be and giving my daughter stability and be the father she has always known. Exercise helps me do that, it helps me manage my thoughts in a more pragmatic way relieving unnecessary negative energy. I am now back to work, which of course comes with its own challenges - but I have always relished a challenge.. I just need to be in the right headspace, and I finally feel like I am again. I’m jetting off to see my good friend in Florida in a couple of weeks time for a chance to stop and reflect but am very optimistic for 2019.
