FYI I never smile while doing battle ropes unless there's a camera in front if my face 😏 . Battle ropes are definetly one of those love/hate pieces of equipment, you can work the entire body with them to offer a high intensity low impact workout. Any fitness level can incorporate them into their sessions with 10/20/30 etc second intervals to build endurance and strength as well as increase aerobic fitness. 🔥 . Casually flexing my ankle range of motion 😂🤷🏼‍♂️ . In all seriousness though, having a good range of motion (flexibility & mobility) within the joints can positively affect you performance during your workouts. Having superior mobility can reduce injury, increase movement efficiency and most importantly, improve your gains!! . This happens because of less stiffness arising in the joints allowing for smoother movements, this stops injuries from occurring during said movements!! . This is really going to improve your forearm and finger🤙  #strength it will also transfer into other calisthenic moves and you will find everyday life improve with more grip and hand strength.🤚🏼 . A Resistance band/towel/tshirt or rope will work just as well for these exercises. 🔱There is no excuse to not  #train and challenge your body. So get started learn the ✔ easy variations first. Simple tools and everyday items can be used. Just get creative. . At first griping the rope or towel will feel awkward and you may even get a cramp...So be sure to warm up all of your arms (wrists and fingers) not just your tricep 😂. You will find that your wrist will naturally curl towards you as you tighten your grip and pull upwards. ✊ Same again, there is no set amount of  #reps. I'm not bragging here but I've got a pretty decent push up game if not good, but I was put in my place with these ring push ups. Never have I had to work this hard to get a few reps in. Totally humbled by this.Getting my body used to the stability needed for these push ups. But this really motivated to work even harder and I don't really mind it... I’ve been out for almost 2 weeks now with this nasty flu virus which isn’t like me as I’m fairly resilient these days. Unfortunately it’s hit me pretty hard this time. 🤒 Normally, I can’t go 2 days without training. It must have been 3/4 years ago when I had so much time off from training. Frustrating to say the least, but there’s nothing I can do other than to listen to my body, fully recover then ease myself back into it❗️➡️ check out the 10 different types of meds (no exaggeration) I got prescribed, seriously WTF! I was also offered antibiotics and some injection thing! Chilly kind of morning where you need to create your own heat. Hotting up with animal moves and some kettle bells. Moving from the warm up into the world, starting with explosive single arm dumbbell snatches. Today's training session is focused around the pull group muscles so incorporates different body areas with similar functions. Lifting as heavy as I can, using a combination of deadlifts, pull ups, rows, biceps and forearm curls, shrugs, and some flys. This morning the flight landed at 3 am. Reached home at 4.30 am. Kids were to be helped to go to their school from 6 am. So despite groggy decided to do a light practice. And later used the same seq for the Thursday morning handstand class too. The timings were 1. Single knee hug 1 mt; 2. Single knee abdominal hold 30 sec 3. Headstand single knee tuck 1 mt each side; 4. Forearm single knee tuck 30 sec 5. Handstand single knee tuck 30 sec. And then did some dynamic tuck straight versions and proceeded to same theme with leg straight instead of bent. First we worked separating his trunk from his hips. Lets applaud the beautiful lines executed here👏👏👏. For clients who are strong and have consistently worked out in their lives I think it’s important to remember it’s ok to slow things down, that every move doesn’t have to kick their butt. Also I find that while the foam roller is an excellent tool, that moving through different planes of motion and activating a variety of muscle groups allows for a more effective “myofascial” release.
